Session proposals are now open.

The countdown has begun! In less than a year, the global microbiology community will gather once again at the FEMS MICRO: Congress & Exhibition, taking place from 5–8 July 2027 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Under the theme Growing Microbial Futures, FEMS MICRO Ljubljana 2027 will bring together microbiologists, researchers, students, industry professionals, educators, and policymakers from across Europe and beyond to exchange ideas, explore emerging discoveries, bring fresh perspectives, and discuss the future direction of microbial science.
 
Whether you are returning from Milan 2025 or preparing for your first FEMS MICRO experience, this is your chance to get involved. We are looking for session proposals that inspire discussion, showcase excellence in microbiology, and encourage interdisciplinary exchange.
  • The deadline for session proposal submissions is 30 September (23:59 CEST). 
  • Looking to showcase your research through a poster display, flash talk, or session talk? Keep an eye out for the opening of the abstract and grant submission portal from 2 September - 15 December (23:59 CET)
